TRKBG is a not-for-profit organization advocating for the betterment of Black people through the acquisition of generational wealth, reduction of health disparities, defiance of stereotypes, and rebellion against the trauma of
racism.
The Issue
We're Fighting for Our Survival
Nearly every social indicator of well-being from income and earnings to obesity and food security, Black women and girls rank low or last. The numbers below spotlight the inequalities and resulting injustices Black women face on a daily basis as they work to obtain full economic security and to create a better life and future for their families.
Economic Security
Black Women in the U.S. are
typically paid 61 cents for every
dollar paid to white men.
Education
Black girls’ 12% suspension rate is much higher than girls of any other race and most boys.
Violence
Black girls, women, and non-binary people are hyper-vulnerable to abuse.
Racism & Mental Health
1 in 10 Black people experience racial trauma.
Entrepreneurship
Black-women owned businesses increased by 164%, however, Black-women led startups have only received .0006% of the total tech venture capital funding raised.
Fitness & Nutrition
The death rate for Blacks is
generally higher than whites for
heart diseases, stroke, and cancer.
